Obituary of Christine Beate Willett

Christine Beate Willett, age 39, passed away on January 25, 2020. Christine is survived by her husband, Sameer Rao, and their son, Fynn. She is also survived by her sister, Jessica and their parents Ken and Beate.

Christine was born and raised in Germany. She spent the majority of her childhood in Munich, Germany with frequent trips to her mother's hometown of Karlstein. She was very close to her grandparents and other extended family members.

Christine came to the US to pursue her college education and graduated from Meredith College with a degree in Fashion Merchandising.

Christine was married to Sameer Rao on November 1, 2008 in Miami, Florida. It was one of the many places they would eventually live including North Carolina, New York, Munich, and Palo Alto.

Their son and only child, Fynn was born on Jan 2, 2012. He is and always will be the love of Christine's life.

Christine had a successful career in fashion retail with positions as a buyer and inventory planner at Neiman Marcus, West Elm, and Coach. The majority of her career she worked in New York City.

Christine loved German culture and traditions, fashion, pop culture, travel, and good food. She laughed easily and often.

Our family would like to acknowledge and thank all of the loyal and loving family, friends, and medical personnel who enriched the last 3 years of Christine's life.

A visitation and memorial service will be held for Christine at Spangler Mortuary in Sunnyvale, CA on Saturday, February 8th. Visitation hours will begin at 12pm and the service will start promptly at 1 pm.

A reception will follow.
