Charlene Anne Markum, 71 years old of Almaden Valley, California, went to be with her heavenly father peacefully while surrounded by family on February 5, 2024.

Charlene was born February 6, 1952, to Charles Winslow and Ella Winslow of Pelham, New York. She graduated from Pelham High School in 1970. She had two brothers(Tom and Richard) and three sisters (Linda, Betty, and Ellen), all of whom are deceased.

She worked as a server in the restaurant industry where she was known for her engaging personality, joyfulness, and sense of humor. She enjoyed camping and traveling with family, and she spent many vacations visiting the wonderful national parks of America.

Charlene is survived by her husband Thomas B. Markum of Almaden Valley, California, and her daughters Melissa & Brooke Weidmann of Vincentown, New Jersey. She was blessed with three grandchildren, Richard J. Maffei III, Morgan S. Maffei and Layla Charlene Markum, and one great grandson, Lucas T. Maffei.

We will be honoring Charlene on February 13, 2024. A visitation service will be performed at Spangler Mortuary at 799 Castro St. Mountain View from 11am until 1pm, immediately followed by a 1:30pm burial service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 22555 Cristo Rey Dr., Los Altos. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Clubhouse/Pool at 3601 La Terrace Cir., San Jose, California.
