With humble hearts and a spirit of gratitude, we honor the life of Catherine "Nena" Garcia Haley, who returned to her Creator on December 13, 2023, at the age of 93. Born in Mountain View, California on November 29, 1930 to parents John Rocha Garcia and Gloria Guerrero Garcia, natives of Malaga, Spain. Nena's life was a testament to her unwavering faith and her deep respect for all of God's creation.

A graduate of Mountain View High School, she furthered her education at De Anza College and Heald Business College, equipping herself with knowledge to serve her community better.

Nena's vocational path was marked by humble service and dedication. She contributed her talents to Libby's Cannery, Westinghouse Corporation, Mountain View Insurance Company, and Lerners Shop, approaching each role with integrity and a strong work ethic.

A steadfast worshiper at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Nena's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. She embodied the spirit of service, and her commitment to spreading God's word was evident in her every action.

Nena was a strong, outspoken, giving, and religious woman who dedicated her life to her family, faith, and community.

Nena's hobbies were extensions of her love for the Lord and her family. Whether it was through the melodious songs she played on the piano, her exuberant flamenco dancing, the nurturing of her garden, or the compassionate care she provided to animals, Nena embodied a life of service and committed her time to volunteering, spreading the Lord's word, cherishing moments with her loved ones and enjoying a game of Bingo in her golden years.

Nena's legacy of love and faith is carried on by her sons, John Haley and Gregory Haley; her six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was greeted in Heaven by her parents and her cherished Chihuahua, Pepe.

We invite family, friends, and those touched by Nena's grace to gather in celebration of her life on Saturday, March 16, 2024. Services will commence at 10:00 AM at Spangler Mortuary, 799 Castro St. Mountain View, CA 94041, followed by the commitment of her earthly remains to Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln St, Santa Clara, CA 95050, at 12:30 PM. The day will conclude with a gathering of fellowship at Vaso Azzurro Restaurant, 108 Castro St, Mountain View, CA 94041, at 2:30 PM.
