Bradley Keith
Kirkpatrick
April 10, 2022
Bradley Keith Kirkpatrick 65, ofSunnyvale, passed away on April 10, 2022 at home.
Brad was born inSunnyvale, California to Keith Kirkpatrick andLila (Williams) Kirkpatrick in 1956. He went to Cupertino high school, and worked in a Machine Shop even before graduating. He enjoyed his work immensely, and frequently showed off his latest product. He operated many different types of machinery with a high degree of precision and skill, and adapted well as the industry computerized, manufacturing parts for a wide variety of applications. He continued to work as a Machinist for 46+ years.
Brad was the kind of person who was liked by everyone, and had the ability to bring lightness, healing and humor to lift the weight of seriousness of any situation so as to make it bearable.
In 1998, at church, he met his best friend and the love of his life, Autumne, and they married in 1999. He would often count marriage years in weeks, and weeks in days, and refer to he and his wife as "newlyweds" even after 22+ years of marriage, same as on their wedding day. They loved spending time together and being around each other, whether involved in a project, camping, hiking, cycling, walking their dog, or just hanging out at home snuggling.
On a long road trip, when talking would settle down into restful silence, as the miles would go by, they'd often come out with the same words or phrase or read the same part of a billboard sign, at the same time, out of the blue, together in unison. That started even before they were engaged, and happened frequently, even at home or on short drives. It was a fun reminder, throughout the years, as to how they were meant for each other. God blessed their marriage, which was a good one, each enjoying time together. Autumne credits the goodness of their marriage as Brad's doing, and each referred to the other as "The better half."
When asked how he was, Brad would typically reply "Sweet as a Hershey bar and twice as nutty. " When asked a question like "Do you want A or B?" Brad's reply would often be: "Yes." If anyone would mention something about hearing or sound, he'd often reply "Huh?" as if he hadn't heard them, and both he and they would erupt in the laughter of the moment, when they realized he was just kidding with them.
He enjoyed many years as the Sound Man at church, and helped to install the church sound system. He put in many hours on musical productions and in Sunday services. As a young adult, he was a member of the Maranatha Singers, and helped to produce an album for them.
He loved taking photographs on walks and short road trips in the San Francisco Bay area, riding his recumbent trike and tinkering with anything mechanical, as he could fix or build most anything, like his dad. He and Autumne were active in ministry at Engrafted Word Fellowship. He loved to help others with mechanical projects, and lend a kind ear to neighbors. Brad had a sweet, kind, loving, happy spirit and got along with pretty much anyone. He was happy at work and at home. He deeply loved God, his wife, and his family, and is loved and missed by all of them and by his many friends.
Brad is survived by his wife: Autumne (Grey) Kirkpatrick; His Mom: Lila (Williams) Kirkpatrick (Young); Sister: Brenda (Kirkpatrick) DiGiacomo & Brother-in-law: Rich DiGiacomo; Nephews: Dan DiGiacomo and Tommy DiGiacomo: Cousins: David, Beth and John Williams; Aunt: Edith Knebel; In-Laws: Terry and Jane Gross; Close friends who are like family: "Sister": Tandy Cole; "Aunt" Barbara Burkett; and "Cousins": Tom Burkett & Jewell (Burkett) Cornelius.
