Obituary of Aurora Van Groningen

Aurora Van Groningen passed away peacefully on Feb 26, 2020. Aurora was born in San Jose, CA on September 15. 1929 and is survived by her son Chris, Daughter in law Nina Van Groningen, Granddaughter Sophia Van Groningen, and sister, Alicia Rosenstock.

Aurora graduated from San Jose High School in 1948, As a child, she worked in the fruit harvest, cutting apricots and picking prunes, she also worked at the old Del Monte Cannery for 3
summers during high school.

After holding down 3 steady jobs totaling 51 years, Aurora retired from
Lockheed Martin in 1997, she then started volunteering, first at the Columbia Middle School Health Dept then at the Sunnyvale Senior Center. Aurora then started volunteering at El Camino Hospital in the Auxiliary/Escort area where she remained for 17 years

She lived life on her terms and enjoyed every minute with no regrets. She will be laid to rest at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery
