Obituary of Anne Dejea Silvera
Anne Dejea Silvera, passed away April 21,2013 in Grass Valley, CA. Born November 15, 1925 to Joseph and Marceliana Dejea. She was 87. Anne was born in Sunnyvale and that was her lifelong home until 2005 when she moved to Grass Valley to be near her only son. She never really got over leaving Sunnyvale but she knew it was for the best. During her early life she worked as a legal secretary for Homer Pfeifer in Sunnyvale. On September 14, 1947, she married Clarence (Buddy) Silvera. They had a son in 1950 and a daughter in 1951. She went on to work for Food Serves for the schools around Sunnyvale. She was a great cook and loved to "throw things together" as she used to say. Buddy and Anne had a wonderful life. They loved to travel in their RV, and enjoyed many outings with the Cervantes Spanish RV group based in Sunnyvale. She was a lifetime member of Sociedad Cervantes Espanola on Sunnvale. Anne loved to play roulette and the slots anytime she could get near a casino. But the most memorable pastime for Anne was her dancing and went to dances whenever one was near by. To the end when music was played, she still had a twinkle in her eye, and a wiggle of her shoulder. Her Latin roots from Spain where present whenever she heard Latin music. Anne is survived by her only son and daughter-in-law Dennis and Cheryl Silvera, her two grandsons Chris (Heather) Silvera and Mike (Brianna) Silvera, a sister-in-law Emily Dejea of Sunnyvale and several nieces and nephews. Anne was preceded in death by her loving husband Buddy, her mother and father and an infant daughter Carole Ann and her loving brother Peter. We would like to take this opportunity to send our heart felt thanks for the wonderful staff at Quail Ridge Senior Living where Anne called "home" for the last eight years. The family requests any donations be sent in Anne's memory to the Hospice of the Foothills, 11270 Rough and Ready Hwy., Grass Valley, CA 95945.
