Ann Pope

November 23, 1932 - February 3, 2021

Ann Pope, 88, passed away peacefully Wednesday February 3, 2021. She was predeceased by her husband William H. Pope of Salinas, Ca. and is survived by her son William S. Pope of Saratoga, Ca., her sister Connie Grice of Sunnyvale, Ca. and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Ann was born in Sunnyvale in 1932, graduated from Fremont High School in 1950, married her husband William in 1953 and they chose Salinas as their home. Ann worked as a music buyer for many years at both Gadsby's Music and Kane & Zech in downtown Salinas. She enjoyed golf, playing bridge, and was active socially at Salinas Golf and Country Club as well as Corral De Tierra.

Ann volunteered at the John Steinbeck Library for many years delivering books to those who were unable to get out, and also for the children's program.

There will be two viewings. The first will be in Sunnyvale at Spangler Mortuary Thursday February 11, 2021 from 1-3 pm at 174 N. Sunnyvale Ave. The second viewing will be in Salinas at Struve and LaPorte on Friday February 12, 2021 from 1-3 pm at 41 W. San Luis St. Cremation to follow.

In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to an Alzheimers research association of your choice.
