Alfredo "Fred" Mirelez Jr, 83, of San Jose, passed away on May 30, 2023 peacefully at home following a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Fred was born on January 15, 1940 to Alfredo Sr and Manuela Mirelez in New Mexico. He joined the army in November 13, 1959 and was awarded the sharpshooter decoration during his time in the military.

Fred was predeceased by his wife, Alicia Mirelez. He is survived by his partner, Phuong Phi Nguyen, and his sister, Beatrice (Max) Perez.

Visitation will be held at the Sunnyvale Chapel of Spangler Mortuary on June 7, 2023 at 9:00 AM, followed by a funeral mass at St. Martin's Catholic Church at 12:30 PM and a graveside service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery at 2:00 PM.
