Albert Hsien-Yang Wu 吳顯揚, 75, of Cupertino, California passed away on August, 24, 2026. He was a loving husband, supportive father, devoted pastor, skilled engineer, and faithful servant of God. His cheerful presence is and will always be dearly missed.

Born on March 21, 1951 in Hualien, Taiwan, Albert was the second son in a pastor’s family. His father, Rev. Ted Wu, and his mother, Anna Lai Wu, were lifelong ministers, serving Presbyterian Bible College (PBC) in Hsinchu and across churches in Taiwan.

After graduating from Taipei Municipal Chien Kuo High School and earning a B.S. in Physics from National Cheng Kung University in 1974, he completed two years of military service in Kinmen. Upon the end of his military service, Albert immigrated to the United States, first reuniting with his family in Chicago, Illinois and then relocating to California. On August 21, 1981, he married his beloved wife, Liling Lin, in Huntington Beach, California. Together, they built a loving home for their two children, Madeline and Theodore. In 1986 they relocated permanently to Cupertino, California.

He earned his M.S. in Electrical Engineering from California State University Fullerton in 1982; and then he went on to build a 26-year career in the technology and defense sectors, serving as an engineer and manager at organizations including Rockwell International, Hughes Aircraft, Ford Aerospace, Lockheed Martin, and Cisco Systems among other companies. Some notable accomplishments include working on the Trident 2 missile program and Challenger Space Shuttle, a mission to the Pituffik Space Base (Thule Air Base) in Greenland, software development and testing for network appliances (switches, firewalls and load balancers).

After more than two decades in corporate life, Albert felt a profound calling to dedicate the rest of his life entirely to the Lord. He retired from his engineering career to pursue full-time theological training. In 2009, he earned his Master of Divinity from Logos Evangelical Seminary in El Monte, CA, subsequently serving as a Director for Logos in Taiwan, and later as Director for the Christian Witness Theological Seminary. In 2014, he further deepened his lifelong calling by founding Household of God Ministries (神的家), where he served faithfully as pastor until the day he died.

For more than six decades of ministry, Albert served the Church in countless capacities—as a choir member, youth leader, worship leader, Sunday school teacher, mission committee member, and care team minister. Above all, he was guided by a desire to glorify God, spread the Gospel to non-believers, and live out the truth of John 14:6.

For those who knew Albert, he was a loyal friend, dedicated to his spiritual pursuits. He was also known for his practical jokes and his playful personality, oftentimes the comedian of the family.

Albert is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Liling; his children, Madeline (Jonathan Tang) and Theodore (Helen Li); his three grandchildren, Ian, Theodore, and Gabriel; his grandpup Ellie; his siblings, Jonathan (Jennifer) Wu and Mei-Miau (Don Adams) Wu.
