Albert B Klay, 98, of Palo Alto died May 2, 2023, at his home.

He was born July 26, 1924, in Palo Alto to Albert Klay Sr and Lyndall (Shera) Klay.  Al had two sisters.  He graduated from Palo Alto HS in 1942.  He was called to duty Dec 1, 1942, into the Army Air Corp and served in China, India and Burma theatre as a cryptographic tech (secret communications) and attained the rank of Corporal. Released from duty October 1945.  After the service he worked for an uncle (Bill Klay) building homes in and around Palo Alto. His career was in the carpentry business and worked for many contractors until his retirement. He loved working with wood.  He was survived by the love of his life companion of 54 years Marilyn McDaniel, her three children and Al's nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, stepdad Clarke Gödel, and sisters Lorena Lutz and Margery Tank.

A Memorial Service will be held July 26th, 4 pm @ Peninsula Bible Church, 3505 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto.  Spanglers Funeral Home helped handling the arrangements.
